What about conventional oil? If you drive a lot of miles like an Uber driver you need to change the oil frequently so the long lasting property of synthetic oil does not help you but the low cost of conventional oil will add up with frequent oil changes.

Sorry but you do not have to be a lubrication engineer to know that adding synthetic to dino oil is about as smart and dumping old milk in with new milk....it will spoil far more quickly. So will blended oils...since the bulk of the oil is dino with far less lubricity than synthetics. Whole point of synthetics is to MAKE the engine last longer...and it does. So why compromise for a few dollars...on a $50k vehicle. It is just plain dumb. Only gum chewers and folks who don't care if the car/truck lasts more than 40k would do this.
