(For the last question)
For time :
u = -20 m/s;
a = 0 m/s²;
s = -40 m.
Therefore,
s = ut + (1/2)at²
-40 = (-20)t + (1/2)(0)t²
-40 = -20t
t = 40/20 = 2 s
For position :
1) With respect to particle B
u = 24 m/s;
a = -g = -10 m/s²;
t = 2s.
Therefore, s = ut + (1/2)at²
s = (24)(2) + (1/2)(-10)(2)²
s = 48 - 5×4 = 48 - 20
s = 28m
2) With respect to particle A
u = 4m/s;
a = -10m/s²;
t = 2s.
Therefore, s = ut + (1/2)at²
s = (4)(2) + (1/2)(-10)(2)²
s = 8 - 5×4 = 8 - 20
s = -12m
