MLAPI Tutorial: Part 7- Play Over Network

Показать описание
Welcome back to Part 7!

In this video we adapt the project so we can play on multiple computers.

We cover adding an InputField to our menu so users can input an IP address of the host computer and we cover Connection Approval.
Connection approval is important so we can check that the client trying to connect is actually using the same game code.

I really hope you're enjoying the series and please "like and subscribe".
Leave some comments on what you want to see next.

Buddy, you are the best! explained this MLAPI tutorial cycle on my fingers, thanks! Could you try to record a lesson on creating a lobby, I think many will be useful to you. Thanks in advance! [P.S.: if you want too, then add a comment to raise it higher]

Thanks for these tutorials. When I get time I think I'm going to build this tutorial just to test performance comparison against a similar PUN build; it seems more complicated to work with than PUN (that may just be bc I'm familiar with PUN)

@SRCoder. What's the best way to check if ApprovalCheck failed for a client? (that is, how does the client know it failed to login?)

Congrats on this series, you really saved me several times ! But sill have a question :)
When I host my game on a device, it always connects to the local server 127.0.0.1 ... So of course, no one can join :/
Is there a way for the host to create a lobby on the network ?

Do people need to set up port forwarding to use this, if they are not on the same network?

Thanks again, I do like your calm, clear and verbose style :)

I'm left wondering though, we know this can do LAN but can we make each other discoverable via a LAN lobby of somesort? Obviously this would be a free local solution but is there any information around about how to go about hosting this (as a headless server?) to achieve PUN like functionality, perhaps a tutorial about hosting such a thing on Google Cloud or Microsoft Azure or maybe even Unity hosting (why create new accounts if you don't have to) as it does seem the big advantage of PUN2 is this out the box feature?

I was trying to show hp in a slider as healthbar but apparently its more complex than Slider.value = hp.value. I know how to use sliders but any tips on how to affect the value of hp remaining on each player to them? And maybe the hp of opponent too. Ps: Nice video, hope to see more!

Hey! Sorry I’m not too advanced but I have a silly question. Can I connect with almost any computer as long as I have the ip? Or do the computers need to be physically close to each other? Like in the same house or something. Thanks and God bless!

Does this still work with the 0.1.0 release? I noticed that you started another series for it, so I was wondering if some things were changed.
