The sad thing about jimmy he was just almost as good as his brother and could’ve been a great lawyer but he destroyed him morally and emotionally.

This show had so many evil characters. And when Howard and Huell are the two that turn out to have the best hearts

Kim telling Chuck that he made Jimmy the way he is was the realest shit in the entire series tbh

For as smart as Chuck was the fact he couldn't realize how naive and too compassionate his father was and that's why he lost a lot of money, was the start of the end.

Chuck had a inferiority complex. I still don’t know if his fake allergy to electricity came from Chronic OCD or just in his imagination due to stress. But not only did he resented Jimmy but he truly believe that criminals don’t change. When Jimmy became a lawyer, Chuck became even more hateful toward him because he believe that a recipe for disaster. Which at the end, he was right. Finally, as for Chuck actually loving his brother or not we’ll probably never know. Chuck is just that much of a complex character.

Walt didn't win a nobel price.
He was part of a team, whose work contributed to research, which was awarded with a nobel price.

Michael's Chuck McGill was vital to the show of Better Call Saul... it's why he had to come back, even in flashback, for the series finale . The Chicanery episode is top tier eps of the show... probably top 5 or even top 3 that best represent the show, that doesn't have to rely on its connection to Breaking Bad.

If Chuck had been satisfied with being a respected and admired lawyer and not jealous of Jimmy's popularity and their parents love of him things might not have ended up how they did.

I wonder if Jimmy has something to do with his brother’s “ailment”?
I think Jimmy’s gonna really break down so hard when he finally comes to terms with his brother’s fate

After watching for the second time, I’ve noticed how Chuck is so desperate to only see Jimmy as the scheming manipulative con man, that he can’t see that *HE’S* also a scheming manipulative con man too, but he’s privileged enough to be able to use legal means to do it.

Jimmy may be able to physically steal from people and con people out of the contents of their wallet, but Chuck has stolen people’s large clients and cases, which does literally take money from them (people who arguably need it more than he does), and he schemed against Jimmy in an attempt to have him disbarred. He even manipulated Howard’s loyalty in order to make him be the bad guy in his bid to keep Jimmy out of HHM

I think you might have gotten some scenes and motivations jumbled up, but enjoyed this. Thanks

Cicero, Illinois also has a well-earned reputation for corruption both cloaked and overt, from Al Capone to Betty Lauren-Maltese. I grew up there, I can vouch for the truth of it. I'm not surprised that Slippin' Jimmy grew up there, you can learn a lot as a kid because so many characters were happy to teach.

26:23 Not sure I agree, because if Chuck relied solely on his intellect he wouldn't let his resentment take control of his relationship with Jimmy. He would understand that he should be mad at his parents, if he is so inclined, but definitely not at his brother who has always looked up to him and craved his approval. Chuck is being jerked around by his misplaced emotions.

Unless he deliberately _chooses_ to make Jimmy a scapegoat, in which case, he is actually evil. I'm not sure if this is the case though. It does seem like misplaced blame is more likely -- I mean, Chuck resists self-reflection to the point of developing "electromagnetic sensitivity"... A true man of intellect wouldn't allow this to happen, would he?

Thanks for making this video btw! Very interesting to think about Chuck in greater detail.
