F1 Cars are a lot more complicated than I thought, and I knew they already were.

For those less familiar with F1, DAS is an acronym for Dual-Axis Steering.

That was a game-changing innovation by James Allison. It's a shame it's got banned

A literal beast of innovation. Toe-in for straight line stability. Toe-out for cornering stability. The ability to cater to either oversteer or understeer depending on the corner. The ability to warm the tyres more efficiently during formation and safety car laps. Innovation at its finest

Bruh….the things these engineers come up with is so crazy. I mean there’s not many real world uses for this specific tech aside from in racecars, but holy shit is that cool.

those machines are litterally art, engineering, precision and hoursepower combined perfectly 👌🏾

The FIA is stifling innovation, instead of banning this, they should've let other teams make their own version of this

imagine an F1 car with DAS, active suspension, active aero, double diffuser, and ultra soft tires

I wish there was a version of F1 where teams could just do whatever tf they wanted and made the best machines possible

I still remember as a kid watching F1 on tensports I always used to skip F1 for WWE. And I am in debt of the day in last month that somehow I started Drive to Survive series and now I watch formula 1 content almost every day. WWE, UFC and now F1 is my go to sports.

I thought u could only change the brake bias and differential during a ride. But changing the toe that’s insane :0

And if they made it automatic it would be “DAS AUTO” 😂

Ok yes but it uses physics where accelerating pulls you back and that movement is when you want straight lines speed, when breaking for cornering it pushes you forward and the Column moves forward giving you a better steering angle for turning

That was a very clever design. Much like the F-duct

This is the only reel I read comments to without pausing the video, love the engine sound

Helped with tire wear, which would help safety possibly.

If that had been saved for a season where the competition was close it wouldve been heralded as genius.
