Anytime anyone says “my truth”, you already know they’re full of shit.

My granddaughter cheated at checkers once. I sued and won $2.38 in her piggy bank. Justice.

in 2019 and 2020 Hans lost rating point in every tournament (apart from 1 where he lost 0 points) where there were no live boards; in every tournament where there were live boards he gained points

what i find interesting is the huge difference in performance between tournaments that are broadcast live to tournaments that are not broadcast live.

Yeah... what are the odds of a previous cheater having cheated again while facing the best player in the world?

Magnus chose his words carefully. He said he believed Hans has cheated more than Hans has admitted to online and that he was suspect about the game they played and wants nothing to with Hans because the guys a confessed cheater. That’s not saying he 100% cheated on the OTB game and should be fine. You’re allowed to have opinions backed up by evidence. Hans has several games some 45 move with 100% accuracy - Fischer at his prime was 72%. I believe Magnus was mainly just telling the world Hans is a pos who doesn’t belong in the elite level because of his past shenanigans.

Magnus missed the opportunity to accuse Niemann immediately after the game, with a body search. This would have been a scandal, but it is just the same now, and in this way there would have been no doubt.

The worst chess scandal was when Alekhine won several games to Euwe in world championship matches while using drugs.
The drugs? Wine and cognac 😄 (certainly not very enhancing for his game).
Euwe, a great player and a gentleman, suggested sometime Alekhine to leave the game for another day 🙂👏

Cheaters never change. They ask how they were caught, and then they improve their cheating.

I'd like to see a compendium of grandmasters accusing other grandmasters of cheating. Wasn't there a thing from the world championship where one of the players was allegedly receiving coded moves from the arbiter bringing him a specific flavor of yogurt?

I mean, Niemann does try his best to look like a movie villain. It was obvious really...

The guy dug his own grave: once you done the cheater's robe, you always will look as if you're wearing it, no matter what you have on.

How exactly do you cheat so quickly in chess without thinking the whole thing over

Hans destroyed his career. To sue is all he has.

I definitely agree with your conclusion. There was no concrete evidence found to support Magnus allegation.

I dont think Carlson would lob out an accusation if he didnt 100% believe it. That being said, any benefit of the doubt is destroyed with Hans slapping $100 million lawsuit when he’s been caught more than once.

I only cheat when there is nothing on the line…I’m a cheater with a conscience…you can trust me!

Hans definitely would have cheated OTB as well as online if he could get away with it (assuming he hasn't already). It's not like he cares about ethics or has integrity.

I think he has a device in his mouth and he doesn't do top moves to disguise his cheating and falls back to brilliant lela plans

As someone who has never played Chess, how does one cheat? Are there computers involved somehow?
