Just to clarify why cheating is such problem;

Chess at the highest level now comes down to 1-2 critical moves. Players at the highest level like Nakamura have said that you would only need to cheat for a single move in order to beat anyone in the world.

It's less of a case of maybe he cheated the whole game but if he could get the top engine move for one very critical position that's all it takes to win at the highest level

Magnus had a problem with Hans entering the tournament from the start before they even played due to his cheating history, so his suspicions didn't come primarily from him losing. Also, people insinuating it's impossible to cheat over-the-board don't realize that being "informed" of only one or two moves in a match is an incomprehensible advantage for these top-level players, and that can be done in countless ways from a simple hand gesture from a spectator to something as absurd as vibrating anal beads. This wouldn't be the first time something like this happened in the chess world and it wouldn't be the first time Hans played unfairly, just sayin'...

Sorry this is a terrible summary. Carlsen thought that Hans had been cheating for a reasonably long period (as confirmed by Fabi, Hikaru and others), and was apprehensive when he was announced as a substitute player for the tournament.

While it's a joke, in theory it could be done, and people have gone to FAR greater lengths to cheat than that.

5. All players must undergo manual colonoscopies before tournaments and after bathroom breaks
