Last year at school, I wore baggy sweaters, loose jeans, beat-up sneakers, my hair was frizzy and unkempt (they used to call me “Afro-dite”), my teeth were yellowish, my face was covered in acne, and I was nearly the stage of skinny fat.

Needless to say, I was made fun of quite a bit. They called me “railroad tracks” (because of the braces), “pizza face” (acne, obviously), and told me I pretty much wore the same thing everyday.

I realized I could be doing way better than I was. So I started watching a couple videos and taking a couple notes.

I started getting my hair trimmed and I began shaving regularly. I started going to the gym. I used to way 135 skinny fat. Now I weigh 150 in muscle. My clothes are fitted to my body type (and I have my wonderful grandmother to thank for that, who is a very talented tailor who I love). I started wearing belts and found jeans that fit my lower pants. My beat-up sneaks were replaced with slick new Converse. I started wearing a watch, using hair product, washing my face with an assortment of acne medication.

(I get teased about my “poshness.” Kids always tell me that I should wear a large shirt size and stop buying “children’s clothing because it’s too small on me.” I honestly don’t care. I give them a witty rebuttal and go on my way. My style, the fittedness, everything — it makes me feel confident and fashionable. That’s all that matters. Besides, you’re never too young to look like a gentleman. 😉)

I’ve even recently starting turning from a painfully awkward person into a extrovert. I’m very happy with my progress, and I’ve gotta thank this channel wholeheartedly.
