Finally, after quite some time, it’s a #ReadingWrapUp of all the books that I read in October. As you will see it was like the spirits did not want me to make this video (lighting issue and camera issues) but I went along, sorry for it not being the usual quality though. Better something than nothing though, right? #WrapUp #OctoberWrapUp

Hi Simon ! I am so impressed by the amount of work you can do in a month! I really enjoy your videos because I always discover new things (cities, books etc..). Thanks!

Oh I love your wrap ups. If you only have time for one vlog per month my vote is for a wrap up because we get a sense of your month ( which writers you've talked to what you've been reading for your many projects, but mostly what you've enjoyed reading as a lover of literature) Great stuff before the 👻 in the machine...spooky

So happy to see wrap ups back! :) no pressure though! Rizzio and The Baby is Mine both sound really interesting! Thanks for sharing. :)

Loved where the Crawdads Sing for the spectacular nature descriptions but found the safeguarding issues and the fact she learnt to read then could read scientific books issues unbelievable. Reading Real Life at the moment and am not enjoying as much as the recommendations. Loved Leave the World Behind but a while ago. Thanks for the heads up about Sea State- I knew a lot of people who worked on oil rigs off the coast in W.A. in the 1980's and 1990's and the lifestyle that really unsettled and affected family life.

Oooh wrap-ups are my favourite! So happy you're doing them again :)
Really need to get a move on with The Wolf Den, but I'm currently reading A Thousand Ships and feel like I can't read those two at the same time for some reason, haha. The live show is an extra motivator though!
Hope you have a great day :)

I saved Rizzio for its anniversary, March 9, which was yesterday. Terrific! Thanks for showing me this novella because I'd never have discovered it otherwise. And now Holyrood Palace is on my bucket list. 🙂

Ooh, Rizzio sounds just like my thing. I remember feeling touched by his fate when I visited Holyrood years ago too.

Hi Simon, I really enjoy your videos, and your passion as well as the intelligent way you collect and recollect your thoughts on each book. Thank you for the amount of content you do for your channel. I think you're a great voice in the booktube community 😀

I loved Leave the World Behind... that tension building was amazing! I was slightly scared off by the low rating on goodreads but I don't need a book to be wrapped up all nearly with a pretty happy bow (which was mainly the criticism) so thought I'd chance it from a charity shop and I'm so glad I did! 🦌

I just read The Baby is Mine on the train and found it wonderful, so muxh better than My Sister the Serial Killer. Leave the World Behind I also read it October and absolutely adored it, even made a seperate little video on it. So fantastic the way it explores ideas of privilege and safety across many different faceats.

Just the title Come Join Our Disease sounds absolutely fascinating. I'm pretty squeamish so not sure if I could handle it, but major kudos to the author for that title!

Sea State is out in the US in January I think and I am quite keen to read it. I honestly thought Where the Crawdads Sing was just ok, but if others loved it that‘s great because reading is reading. Love your jumper by the way, and your edits crack me up!
