Watch the top 3 runs of Moto X Best Trick from X Games Chiba 2024 in Japan!

How medal event is judged:
1 heat of 8 athletes participating in 2 runs each. Best run counts, with the best run ranked 1-8. Judges will rank competitors throughout the contest.

One of the most exciting events in freestyle motocross is the Best Trick competition, where riders attempt to execute the most difficult and innovative tricks possible. The Best Trick competition allows FMX riders the chance to land the best trick in their arsenal for X Games gold. In this Final-only format, eight riders will have two attempts to land their best trick. Riders are judged on the overall difficulty and execution of their trick. The greater score of the two jumps is their final score.

Freestyle FMX has just slowly lost its luster over the last decade

Taka getting a bronze medal with a 2012 trick. Like nothing new has been done for the past 12 years. Vanstippen and Villegas invited for no reason like no one in the world could do better. A shame Bink crashed in practice, maybe he had something up his sleeve. Atleast Jacko landed a new trick which saved the event. Fmx really misses the X Fighters, it made the riders bring so many new tricks

How many of these guys would even think about doing any of this on a dirt landing? ZERO.. air mattress is good for learning but not comp, just my 2 cents

this is dog s*it you guys are killing this sport, smh maybe travis should host his own i mean the BMX and skate is okay... but you guys need to step up every year with new exciting riders and jumps and courses and experiment id rather watch something new then this rubbish, sad day for FMX and all the action sports in general.

Wow ...FMX is just going downhill.. Xgames did a bad job advertising this event. They had what .5-6 riders? Only 2 riders really compeating...small crowd. FMX in Xgames was huge back in 2000s. Packed stadiums. Televised event. Now its Just horrible.

Now warm ups done when does the comp start ? Or are we looking at an electric bike and bag landing for 2025 ? Rather watch bmx and the boys at darkfest hitting bigger jumps doing better tricks on a mtb….

Riders like Taka and doubleflippers are killing this wonderfull sport. ZERO progression for years. Why they are competing in best trick contests? I don't know. This is embarrassing... I miss Pastrana, Pages or Rinaldo. They were FMX artists. Taka and doubleflippers are just riders.

Everyone complaining about the bag, or that it’s boring, should go throw a front flip on one since you think it’s so easy. Don’t wear a helmet either since safety equipment is lame.
