One thing people forget about this is that he was kind of forced into trying it. For his first run he did a superman backflip but it wasn't the best trick of the first round (I think an underflip was), so he had to go for the double if he wanted gold. I think if the superflip had been enough he would have waited a little longer to debut it. But the kind of competitor that Travis is, he knew what needed to be done and stuck it absolutely perfectly.

I know other times in his career, like when he did the double on his Freestyle victory lap, or redid the 360 when time was out, or tried the 720 on a rebel run (and broke his leg), he's put landing the trick ahead of everything else, but this is the one time I think he was genuinely intimidated by the task he'd put in front of himself. And he responded like so.
