Hasan Minhaj Uses Timothée Chalamet's Name at Starbucks

Comedian Hasan Minhaj taught Ellen the proper way to pronounce his name, and revealed he sometimes uses actor Timothée Chalamet's name at Starbucks since it seems to be easier. He also talked about how he hid his comedy career from his dad when he was just starting out, and told Ellen about his popular Netflix show, "Patriot Act with Hasan Minhaj."

Ellen definitely seemed bothered and pretty overmatched by Hasan's personality. At a certain point in the interview I believe she decided that he was right to correct her and she really tried to pronounce his name accurately. Bravo, Hasan. You doing that on Ellen set an example for someone many people with family origins from other countries. She knows that she would be a hypocrite to take offense to your correction. I certainly commend her as well. Ellen is great and she really blesses so many people. I do wish she would use her platform to address more issues of injustice. Not blaming her at all, but I can see benefit coming from that for so many that are oppressed in America.

I can't remember who said this but recently, I heard somebody make the great point that if everybody can somehow learn to pronounce Fyodor Dostoyevsky or Machiavelli or Nietzsche, then there's no reason they can't learn to pronounce my name.
