I was at Woodstock and saw Joe for the first time. Later when Leon Russell put the Mad Dogs and Englishmen tour on the road my friends and I saw them at New Paltz NY. Great Show. This is a Great Tribute.

It is almost astounding how they manage to not just almost equal the power the late great Joe Cocker brought to this track while amplifying the fun in the tune.

TTB are the greatest touring band (with all due respect to Blackberry Smoke and, of course, Govt Mule) yet it had to be a thrill for them to be on the stage with the man in the top hat from Tulsa Oklahoma, the only MR Leon Russell

I heard Dave Mason play in a medium sized bar in St Thomas USVI on the outskirts of Charlotte maybe 1988. I cant remember. It does not appear on his historical tour schedule. I think he was "unplugged". So long ago. He had one other guy as I recall. Long time ago. The bar was in Sub Base or Crown Bay area.

This was a tribute to Joe Cocker with Dave mason, Rita Coolidge and Leon Russell.They all preformed on the Mad Dogs and the Englishman Tour form 1970

Wow! I wonder what thoughts were running through Leon's head as he relived this. TTB is by far the best band extant. I see they've got Bramhall with them too, and isn't that Dave Mason in the black hat? Is it 1971 again? I love the male singer; he did a great job, but underscores to me that there was only one Joe Cocker.
