Saw Susan at the Riverfront Blues Festival in Fort Smith a million years ago.

She was the OPENING act at 6:30pm…Delbert McClinton was the closer at 11pm.

Came out to a rowdy crowd, and quietly said “I’m Susan. Gonna sing for you now” and we thought she would get eaten alive.

Then she started with “Rock Me Right” and blew our faces off. Got a signed copy of her CD, and spoke with her for half a minute. Just sweet as could be.

Been a giant fan ever since, and have seen her play 10+ times. ❤

I respect the way that Derek just sits back and lets her have her moment on stage without trying to overplay her or show off or anything of the sort. To me he seems like a complete gentleman and respects his wife. I enjoy their dynamic
