Sun's Evil Twin That Spoils Our Life

The video discusses how some scientists doubt the existence of "Nemesis," an evil twin star that could have caused regular mass extinctions on Earth. However, despite the lack of evidence, Nemesis has become quite famous online. Studies have even called it an urban legend. Nevertheless, the video concludes by urging people to stay positive and appreciate the sun for all the sacrifices it has made on our behalf.

It still has its twin, also it probably wasn't as long ago as you may think. It's a brown/black dwarf, it has been spoken of in many ancient writings, it was seen by our ancestors.

Ummmm so this is very important actually in India when there was like a small sand tornado I saw something bright near the sun at morning it might be the sun’s evil twin.

Fun fact:
There's an exoplanet that's 200 light years away from ours, called "Kepler-16b", that orbits two stars.

If the sun’s twin was ejected, which would only happen with a massive star, it would share a period of its orbit with the sun. Also why can we not trace back the orbits and find when the twin got ejected

Sun is not alone, it has a cluster of brothers and sisters and planets

This can be a theory, but if nemises exists at that orbit range, it would only slingshot comets and asteroids if they don't collide with it (that a star has to have. Lot of gravity because if it's to small, it'll have gravity at a Large force, same for the size, and if it's left the system, what could even slingshot a Star at that speed? A black hole is the only theory for that, but a black hole would most likley destroy both stars, so there is I high chance the sun was alon the entire time.

Don't worry about it.... I ate it. 😁

The amount of rocks that would have to be thrown at us for it to bat 1.000 every 26 million years is absurd.

What if this "twin" actually is currently one of the planets in the solar system, like for example, Pluto? I know it has been removed from the privilege of being a planet, but there are still possibilities.

The sun and it's twin spent *'only'* a couple million years together.

Fun Fact: This red dwarf was Proxima Centauri. A star located nearly 1 light year away. It has its planet Proxima Centauri B and it is a yellow earth-like planet. Show this comment and paste/copy it!
