Thank you! I could not get this information anywhere else. I originally found it on your blog, and was happy to see you were kind enough to make a video about it too.

I have a rx for Sph +1.00 Cyl +1.75 ADD + 2.25 Left Eye and Sph +1.50 Cyl +1.25 ADD +2.25 What readers would I need? I don't understand the Sph and Cyl numbers as to how to add those or how does that work? Thanks :) Does that mean the Sph and Cly are + 2.75 Left eye at the top of the bifocal and Sph and Cyl + +2.75 of the Right eye for the top part? He said that I am farsighted and this is my first pair of bifocals ever. I can see pretty well far away and watch tv, drive etc without glasses but this is suppose to be a mild upper part. Is it Stronger than the bottom? I've been wearing +3.50 and + 3.25 for the bottom for the past 3 or 4 years. Is that bottom part going to be lower than +3.50?

If I don't need any glasses for reading, the only thing I need to do is to take my far vision glasses (od: -2.5, os: 3) off, and then I can read perfectly. How do I calculate my bifocal prescription from that?

Hi, I am on my sons account so I apologise for the name lol.

My son was recommended to use biofocal glasses. His SPH is minus 1.75 for both eyes and 1.25 for Near-add. The lady who put our purchase through said the top part of his lenses will now be minus 1.25 and the bottom half for reading minus 0.50. She tried to explain this is to avoid any interruption in vision when using the lenses but does this now mean his far sighted vision is lacking the extra 0.50, as if he were only to wear glasses for long distance it would have been minus 1.75 not minus 1.25. Thankyou. I hope you can help me understand

Hi
What if no sphere??

My bifocal prescription says:

L -2.25 90° axis Cylindrical
R -2.25 90° axis Cylindrical
ADD
L +1.50
R +1.50

Does your PD numbers change with the conversion from eye glasses to readers? I was told to subtract by -1.5 to those numbers as well?

I’m not sure I’m doing it right. I got -125 + 150. But that only equals 25.

?what does it mean if I convert it, will it be clear all around my lens, would my far distance and short distance be all the same and be clear? I was hoping to do it for my tennis glasses.
