I have 3 degrees, 2 certificate of mechanical engineering...
I only been able to get an engineering job because i met with 2 people at the place i work at rn who did not questioned my knowledge nor saw me as a threat to their career...
And they are my heroes for this, as i was struggling with mental health, depression just because i did engineering for 6 years and yet i was forced to do the worst kind of jobs for 5 years...

I have a 9th grade education, I was a self employed lawnmower man and reptile breeder, I retired last year at age 48, married with two kids, I own a house on large acreage and spend my days fishing, hunting and pottering around doing daily chores on the “farm” and most importantly I get to spend plenty of time with the wife and kids.
Find your niche, work hard, fast and smart, be sensible with your money and get out as soon as you can so you can enjoy life while you’re still young.

At such early age, we need a mindset that school doesn't make you rich but rather it is a training ground for you to be tough outside the adult world.

Edit:To those people who believe they are outside the school's control, you are one of the reasons why they're a dystopian society, trying to break free but in reality, they are also just slaves of capitalism. I just wanted to give the right mindset of motivation, however, there are always those who complain about school when they also go to school. Always complain and yet they just comply at the end of the day. Don't think to change something when you don't even try to change it.

My cousin hasn't spoken to me in 8 years because we're 41 and while he has a Marketing degree, he still lives at home with his mother. He's unmarried and childless. I dropped out of high school in the 11th grade and now own a tree removal business and a laundromat. He told me I'm not supposed to be able to make good money because I didn't go to college. He's so brainwashed.

The grades dont matter anymore. It’s about who you meet and where you plug yourself in. You meet the right people, you go to the right places, meet more people and before you know it you have several options. Just getting good grades won’t distinguish you in any way, other than showing how good you are at fitting inside a tiny box.
