Great idea. I would recommend spending $5 on a couple of pulleys (metal or plastic clothesline pulleys) if you want your door to actually roll/slide. Just use the pulley wheels with the bolts and nuts instead of the stacked washers.

Barn doors of that type aren't common in Northern Ireland. I've a space for a larder and on the other side my washing machine with dryer on top. It's built, since 2008, except for larder shelves and doors. I hadn't the funds to finish it, I'm almost there, so this method and your shopping list is just perfect, as it will be more economical and is just perfect! Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge.

Great video. Very straight forward and to the point. And you use quality materials to make it vs others that use laundry rollers. There is no door stop but that can be easily solved.

Love it! You are the reason I started wood working a couple of years ago!

Great Job. Couple of suggestions for viewers: furniture bolts have a much lower head, for close tolerances. Jam Nuts are much lower profile than say Nylock Nuts. Again, if you want really tight clearance. CAREFULLY calculate length of total using washers, bar stock, and height of jam nut. When it is assembled there will be no exposed threads protruding from nut that could scratch cabinet face.

That is so ingenious! And thank you for explaining how it works. I wasn't sure how these types of doors stayed in place and where it rolled lol

Takes a woman to do this. Most videos are more expensive and your explanation is easy to follow. Thank you
