Using Dropbox's desktop app is a convenient and user-friendly way to store all your files. Once you install the app, any files you had saved in your Dropbox account will sync to your desktop.

The downside is that all the files saved in your Dropbox account and synced to your computer are taking up valuable hard drive space on your computer.

When hard drive space becomes an issue, consider using Dropbox’s Smart Sync feature for files and folders that you access infrequently. This video shows you how.

Thank you for your use-case. Now I am aware of this feature I will certainly use it. Much more convenient that having to exclude a new folder from every machine I don't want it on!

Dropbox has not updated a file for two days. Have you had these issues?

This is Bullshit !
You are paying to have a backup of your documents on Dropbox ? One backup is on your harddrive and the other backup is on Dropbox .
Now you want to select to not have that backup on your pc ! What makes you think that the server on Dropbox cannot burn ? By the way there is no need to save less on your pc, it could also go down ! Use an extern harddrive instead where there is no limit to your dokuments !
