Which programming languages did you focus on?
- HTML, CSS, React Native

It happens only in US. My colleague there worked multiple jobs: like crime scene tech assistant, shoe shop manager, painting and at the age of 38 cracked into IT industry as tech analyst. I dont think that will happen anywhere else.

Being self taught myself, I remember applying for my first job and he didn’t get back to me. So rang the lead developer, he was busy so they said. Waited two days later emailed him. He said he will consider my cv in the reply. Didn’t hear back again and again rang up again, finally I got asked to come in for an interview and got the job.

He hired me due to my persistent attitude and taught me well. 10 years on and done it all lead dev to CTO.

He wasn’t asked what he made. He was asked the average for a junior dev. Which just isn’t 170k for react. We can google react dev job averages. It’s less than half that… not a genuine dude.

Is it appropriate to use the title of software engineer for someone who does not have a computer science degree, rather than simply calling them a software developer?
