Welcome to The Wisdom of Odin! I’m Jacob Toddson, and I created this channel to explore ancient wisdom and spiritual practices from around the world. My journey began with Norse Paganism, and now I travel globally, uncovering knowledge on historical religions, shamanism, plant medicines, and various spiritual paths. Together, we explore how these ancient teachings can inspire and guide us toward a more balanced and meaningful future.

On this channel, I aim to foster unity and understanding across spiritual traditions, beyond boundaries of race, sexuality, gender, or politics. You’ll find an inclusive, open-minded space free from divisive content, drama, and bias. Join me as we discover and share the timeless wisdom that can heal and uplift us all.

Anytime we have the privilege of touching the land of our ancestors, with correct intention on our part, we leave that place wiser and changed. I have a strong connection to spiral symbolism, and when you were showing the stone spirals, I was feeling a strong spiritual tug in that direction. This was a beautiful video Jacob! Thank you! You cracked me up at the end when you were talking about using your dad voice to get people to stop picking up the rocks :) We all age into that "get off my lawn" person :) Fricken kids! LOL!

You can make tea from stinging nettle, it has alot of health benefits like reducing inflammation, blood sugar control, helps against gout and much more.

My family were from Argyle and Skye. Clan McArthur, heraldry pipers from clan Mcdonald, and clan MacLeod, but my family immigrated to Canada than Michigan. There are still stories told about my 3x great grandpa in the town he helped start about him being fae. He owned a tavern, his bartender being found mad in the swamp, him being an expert marksman, burying barrels of silver, and claiming the iron bars of the jail were attacking him after he shot someone for spreading falsehoods about him. Funny enough, he's got 3 graves, all with the correct dob and name, but different dates of death.

As I am rereading The Mists of Avalon, I can't help but see Avalon in Skye. I am a Morris, though more Welsh and Irish than Scottish, I feel the pull to Scotland like no other place. Should I ever make it there, I may never leave.
Be blessed, and thank you for this video. 🧚‍♀️✨️🌟

I was there last September. I know I’ve barely scratched the surface of all the amazing ancient sites there are to see, so the longing to return is very great.

The feeling there is so surreal. I feel at peace and at home surrounded by the beauty and history of Skye.

I truly can’t wait to go back.

My dear late husband was a Donald. Years ago we were at the Highland Games in Portland, walking around looking for the Macdonald booth, when an elderly man in a kilt said, "I think you're looking for us, lad, " and he gestured toward the booth. My husband, "Don" (James) had such a strong familial resemblance to the patriarchy in Clan Donald.
We always dreamed of returning home to Skye in this lifetime, but will have to wait until the next one.
Thank you for this -- well done!🎉💞🌠

Loved this video. My family is from Clan MacQueen of Skye and I've lived in the Carolinas all my life. Thank you for such a wonderful telling of Skye from such a unique angle.

Such a beautiful, and mysterious land...I live in the US, and I have never been there, or anywhere over that way, but I feel a connection in my soul. I'm sharing this video with my daughter because I named her Skye, and I know she will appreciate it🙂

Thank you for your travels and the history/mythology you provide with each one! Watching your channel is a welcomed break from all the other noise I get on social media platforms. Keep up the hard work and safe travels Jacob.

Thank you.
I have had a fascination with Scotland as my heritage also hails from there, but of the legends you shared in this video I have only ever heard of the fairy flag of the McLeod clan.

Although I have never visited, when I see those mountains, lochs & mist, the ancient standing stones & the castles I feel a genuine draw to them, which your video rekindled again.

I now live in Sweden, but when I visit Norway there is much of the terrain that is really similar, literally as if the sinking of Doggerland that joined the Scottish & Norwegian landmasses created a contemporary understanding where we have forgotten these lands were in deep history really one. Same geography. Similar origins.

I have a similar spiritual feeling of being at home in Norway & would love to visit these far flung sites such as the Isle of Skye....but alas, age & arthritis has made such a journey too challenging now.

So thanks to your video & dedication to detail, I can armchair travel instead.

It is common in Celtic mythology for men to learn their feats of arms from women. Finn mac Chuill also learned from two women in the woods. This tradition was kept alive even into modern times with Countess Markievicz teaching the use of guns to young men fighting against British rule in the period just before the Irish Revolution of the early 20th century. She was an excellent marksman (sic) herself. Google pictures of her in her battle dress. Awesome!
