Just wanted to say thanks for taking the time to explain all this. As a new drummer, I do get rather confused with all the 'borrowed' terms that are used to describe cymbal sounds. This really helped me figure out what I want my next ride cymbal to sound like :)

I owned a bunch of ride cymbals from the Paiste PST line, and no matter what style of music I play, whether it's rock or pop music. I use a ride cymbal in many different ways, if there's a 20" medium ride cymbal that sounds very washy, I use that cymbal as my 20" crash-ride & yet it'll sound amazing as a crash. Just love it!

You should play the ride on your drum set if you haven't already. I like a nice and clean ping ride cymbal, even in worship music.

I don't have the room or money for a drum set, so I'm trying to learn drum sounds because I only have a Casio keyboard with programmed drum sounds.
