The process is simple: Go to the bigbox stores and try all of the Meinls available. Then leave with a Paiste.

I don't know if it's the microphone but the hcs sound surprisingly good

21" Transitions, 21" Polyphonics, 22" Darks & 22" Foundry Reserve Lights are the "BIG 4" here to be honest. Gonna have my hands on them one day. Great content as always, Gabe!

This was probably one of the most useful comparison videos. It's really helped me realise which kind of ride I want. Currently on the transition but I know I want a heavy ride now. Thanks! 😊

I have a 22" Raw Bell Ride and 22" Extra Dry Medium Ride. High ping vs low ping. Best two Meinl Rides imo

I picked up a Meinl Byzance Vintage Pure 22" light ride cymbal a couple of years ago. Rather dry with a lot of stick definition but it has enough 'wash' to be useful in a variety of musical applications and it crashes well. Meinl has come a long way and they have quite a variety of quality cymbals in their line up now. The Vintage Pure ride has become my favorite ride cymbal in my collection.

Meinl Byzance Heavy Hammered ride 22". Best ride in the world. It cost me a load in import fees, but it is gorgeous

I absolutely love the Meinl Duals. I have two of the 20” Dual crash/rides but use them strictly as dedicated crashes. I also have the 22” Dual crash/ride that is used as the “big finish” far right side crash. I also managed to get my hands on one of the early pre-production prototype model Dual 22” rides. It’s considerably heavier than the crash/ride and has a much larger bell. It has, for me, the perfect balance of stick definition, wash, and a bell that will harm you if you stand too close.

The classic custom darks sound amazing to me. That dual crash ride is certainly more of a crash / jazz ride I felt. It would be awesome to find something affordable that can do it all.

Great video, I just considered that the recording could be more focused on the ride, probably isolated ride sound at some point of the execution. I’ve the 22 heavy hammered and a 21 Meinl Foundry proof extra dry heavy bell ride (prototype)

I was looking away from my phone and I was thinking “wow that ride sounds amazing!” Turns out it was the cheapest one at $80. I was very pleasantly surprised. Thanks for the video!

This is such a great video, love the photo transitions between cymbals so I can really see the difference, plus just great overall quality of video production. Thanks!
