This is why I buy stuff used. For $250-300 you can easily find used paiste 2002 or signature rides, Zildjian k stuff, istanbul...

For me, this is the most helpful video yet. 60 years playing...still seeking the perfect ride for me. I just heard 3 that fill my hopes. Thank you!

Great demonstration of optional cymbals!! I play 2002’s on my studio kit at home but wanted to add a “complex ride”cymbal just to play softer & more articulate. Max helped me find a Paiste Masters 21” Dry Ride that was just what I wanted. The cymbal still blends in well with my other Paiste set-up also.. I’m blessed to have a drum shop that helps me get the right gear for what I am wanting for my playing growth!! Shane, Tony & staff work very hard & have made this independent drum shop IMO the best in the world & happy to have them close to home 🥁

I’m amazed at how good the $78 Wuhan sounds in comparison to those up to around $300. Great video as always. Comparison videos like these in an age where many have to order remotely after a lengthy phone call of advice because they’re miles from their nearest shop is priceless. I hope your sales are directly proportional to the work you put into these productions. 💪🏼😎🥁

Thank you DCP for another comparison video you will not find anywhere else. Amazed by how different all of these rides sound. Much more varied than, say, snare drums. Something here for everyone. I know this entailed a lot of work. Thank you.

Man that 22 paiste signature reflector bell just sounds so clean. Every part of the cymbal is nice and distinct

The 23" Zildjian Sweet was Sweet!!
Great bell, nice ping and still crashable.
Covers all the sounds I would need out of my Ride.
Thanks DCP that was a fun 20 minutes!

For this guy, Paiste reigns supreme. Really hard to beat a set of sigs, Zildjian if you want more wash, slightly darker and with less stick definition.

Istanbul traditional dark is my favorite. You can do almost everything with it from jazz to rock. Thanks for sharing dcp !

The perfect example of the law of diminishing returns.

Drummers nowadays are really lucky in terms of choices/options in gear. Back in as late as the 80s, drummers' only choices for cymbals were Zildjian, Paiste, Sabian, Meinl, and maybe UFIP (which I think you should've showcased here as well), and even within these brands choices weren't as wide. Now, there's a literal ton of options for different budgets and musical tastes.

Paiste 20" 602 ME stole the the show for me and I didn't expect that. Other than the Dark Energy Rides (that always sound great but are sooo expensive), I've never really liked the sound of Paiste rides. That's why these videos are fantastic. My mind has been opened (OK, only slightly, but it's a start😂)

Another great video. The HHX BEM world sounds amazing! I have four of these mid-upper priced ones, a 602 ME 22", a HHX 22" Medium, a 23" A Sweet and the 22" Mark II Dark Energy and will be at the store on Saturday, looking forward to playing the Paiste Masters Deep Ride 24". See you soon DCP!

My current kit has rides as crashes. Love the thin ones, very versatile.

FIFTY?! You guys know I don't have that kind of attention span. You maniacs. You absolute fiends. Thank you.

First of all, I truly appreciate you guys making this video, can't imagine how much work that must have been. That being said, there were, to my ears, a lot of awful sounding rides here, even among the higher price ranges.... 😬 I suppose I would still prefer a regular Zildjian 20"K ride, or a 21" K Sweet ride. Of the ones played here I guess the Meinl Pure Alloy and the Zildjian A Medium give the most bang for the buck, they sound closest to what I think a ride should sound like and don't break the bank. The medium heavy Wuhan was impressive for the price as well.

Many great ones here. The Paiste Masters Crisp 22 is the one I want.

I tip my hat to how god damned perfectly repeated that pattern was. Jeez...

Of my fave three, I only own one of them. And some others I do own, I wasn't so keen on. The 20" 602 ME ride for instance I thought was good but not wow, but I have it in 22" and love it. Same with the Foundry Reserve - so my take away from this is, any given cymbal can also live and breath, or suck a bit depending on which size you choose.

Awesome work as always team.
