The new RIDGID Track Saw has officially been released! I've had the Ridgid track saw in the shop for a couple of weeks now. What would you like to see in the full review?

Ugh proprietary tracks....That's the one thing that should be standardized across the industry is the track dimensions. Would make trak saws far more approachable for most users if the entire aftermarket support industry suite of products could be used. Ridgid will never get the same traction as say Kreg's, which still isn't that great for aftermarket support.

Depth of cut seems a bit light, but probably fine for 90% of the time. Not sure why such a big push for cordless from a user point of view since you still should have a hose attached, but i guess if you bought into cordless collection too it may make sense. I still remember when festool abandoned their battery track saw users only to get back in the game later. I love battery power ( cut my lawn with ego), but I also have given away plenty of nicad tools while I still have a 40 year old Milwaukee hole shooter that is useful.

On the plus side is the push button depth adjustment. Makes doing a scoring cut then quickly changing to full depth quick.

On the downside is the proprietary track. I have Festool tracks, I can use my Makita or Festool saws on those tracks. That means I'll never own a Ridgid track saw.

I think the anti tip feature is a bit of a gimmick. The Makita has that. If you're cutting at 45 you still need to use extra force and 2 hands to make sure your cut is accurate. Doing a one-handed 45 cut the track will bow and the cut will be whacked.

I’m excited for this one for what I’m hearing. I’ve been. Waiting to hear the release date in this. Also, how would you compare it to the Ryobi track saw. I’m on that platform but wanting to get a good but not pro level track saw. This seems a bit Better than the Ryobi but would like to get your thoughts.

Need to see how it handles chip outs to veneer particle boards. As much as us carpenters hate to say it, we do use it when the job calls for it. Scott brown carpentry did a comparison between Bosch and makita track saw and that was the biggest difference Bosch couldn’t get a clean cut on veneer.

Is there a plug in option, how long are the tracks? Track connections?

Would be good if you mentioned how much 💰 we're talking about.

Hey, Matt! Thanks for the preview.
Does it come with a case or anything to keep the saw and accessories together, similar to the Milwaukee track saw?
I’m looking forward to this release. It’s been a long time coming.

I’d love to see the pro/cons of this compared to Kroger, dewalt, etc. aka the ones in the same price range.

How would you rate the rigid with Milwaukee? Some are saying it’s the same saw but they made the right track proprietary. The price between Milwaukee and rigid is less than a $100. Is it worth saving $100 on rigid or just go for Milwaukee?

Full in-depth review, please. I would like to know if it's better than the kreg?

Very excited for this! Price and release date would be priority info! Looks like 27mm Festool hose fits with no adapter?

I would like to see a comparison between the Ridgid, the Milwaukee and the DeWalt. I'm in the market for one and was looking at these 3. I guess what I really want to know is which one is the best of the 3?
