I am sorry but what you are saying it is not true, Iranians specially in the northern and the western part of Iran have been adherent of one of Shia sects such as Ismāʿīliyyah, Bāṭinīyah, Qarmatian, ....even many prominent Iranian scientists and intellectuals prior to Safavid dynasty were Shia, since 1200 years ago, and many Iranian communities who were Sunnites such as Kurdish, Turkman, Balouchis were allowed to keep their religion to this day.

As a non-Muslim I found this very interesting. How the Islamic Republic of Iran resembles in many aspects the Safavid empire. Also, I have read many articles about the increasing numbers of Iranians who do not identify as Muslim, so I doubt 95% are Shia Muslims. About 50% seems more likely.

Totally illogical, Safvid didn't forced every one to become Shia, In Nigeria before 1979 there was not a single Shia now in 2024 there are more than 3 million Shias so did some one forced them? No! They research so In Safvid period they hired Shia Ulema from Iraq to spread shiaism in Iran by spreading knowledge not by force
