Best way I heard about Iran. It is twice the size of Iraq, mountainous as Afghanistan and has Nationalism of Russia.

Even the secular Iranians are very nationalistic

All Iranians whatever background they have, have contributed to Iranian nation and history. That is what has held Iran together. NOT RELIGION. Iranian people whatever background they may have first considers themselves Iranian.

I guarantee you, most Iranians see themselves as Iranian first. CaspianReport systematically understates Iranian national identity - which has been around for centuries - and overstates regional identities.

Iranian guy here. The thing about Persians and ethnic groups is that there isn't just ONE Iranian or Iranic ethnic group. And they don't even live just in Iran. They live all over the Middle East and Central Asia. It's kind of like the same thing with Turks or the Chinese. You have these related ethnic groups with related or the same language and shared ancestry.

I'm Iranian and this guy is absolutely clueless. Iran's supreme leader is Azeri, the president is Azeri.
Azeris in Iran have never ever wanted to seperatae themselves because they see themselves as Iranian Turks. Some even hate the regime in Baku because they stole the word "Azerbaijan".
Iran-Iraq war was never seen as Shia-Sunni war, It was seen as Iranian vs Arab war, that's why Iraqi Kurds fought on Iran's side.
You didn't get even one thing right in this video, it's actually imrpessive.

We Iranians have different ethnicities, we are proud of it and we lived together for thousands of years

I'm Kurd. Kurds think of themselves as Orginal Iranians dating back thousands of years. Kurds may hate the Islamic Republic, but they love Iran.

I am Iranian,
I am a mix of Azerbaijani, Georgian, a dash of Tartar and god knows what else… but I am proudly IRANIAN… will always be!

As an Iranian Azeri I can speak for the majority of us in saying that we are all Iranian first and foremost. You severely underestimate the secular nationalism of ethnic minorities within Iran. we have coexisted in Iran for millenia under one shared cultural heritage. Do better next time in your videos.

As a minority in Iran, this is 80% BS. we all are loyal to iran, not due to religion or anything, but because this is our home and we all in it together.
The small, loud groups of separatists who seek to achieve benefits out of chaos do not represent any minority in Iran as the majority of them are loyal to Iran, as seen throughout history

The Iranian/Persian identity has existed for thousands of years, it’s not something that can simply be “dismantled” as some western leaders seem to think.

i am an Iranian Kurd and currently live in Iran. based on my life experience the idea of Iran Balkanization if not enforced by west is very far fetched. Kurds may had many bad experiences with Iranian governments but are very related to Persians and Iran. Azeris the same, most of the modern Iran was ruled by Azeris and they are proud of it mostly, we have many national Azeri heroes and I don’t think an average Azeri sees Iran as the other's government overall. the most serious one is Balochs but not to the level of Balkanization and to SOME EXTENT you can use the Kurdish logic on them too

As an American, I believe America is more likely to balkanize than Iran. Iran has been around for thousands of years, and despite some tough times it has, as this video pointed out, always lived to tell the tale. Iran's not going anywhere.

You're massively underestimating the secular nationalist sentiment in Iran.

As an Iranian Azeri, I am proud of my heritage and the significant role our people have played in shaping the history and culture of Iran. We are followers of Ali ibn abi talib and have contributed greatly to the foundation of the modern Iranian state and its republic. We remain committed to our country and are ready to defend its sovereignty.

As a Turkic Iranian, love to see the comments in the video denying CIA attempts at balkanization. Iran will never be divided. Iran will on the other side grow strong one day and reunite it's cultural bonds with all Turks, Kurds, Baluchs, Turkmens, and Arabs.
