Judge postpones Trump 'hush money' sentencing after immunity ruling

The judge who presided over former President Donald Trump's criminal "hush money" trial in New York has postponed his sentencing. Judge Juan Merchan approved the delay after Trump's lawyers asked for more time to review the potential impact of the Supreme Court's immunity decision. We have a very good judicial system, because if the judge decides to recuse himself a new trial can only be granted by the court of appeals, that means the sentencing will stay effectively preserving not just the victims rights to due process but Trump can no longer contest on appeal his criminal conviction, the judge is responsible to protect the integrity of the proceedings witch includes the identities of the jurors and preserving the gag order keeping so many "locked in" who could potentially incite violence and retribution against the participants, that's includes political retribution, witch is likely because republicans are looking very desperately to interject the proceedings, on appeal Trump's lawyers will try to convince a panel of judges of a fairytale, that previously they've asked judge Merchan to recuse himself and under the "relation back doctrine" the judge has reconsidered his "options" the appeal will be disposed, because no one has ever won on technicality and hypotheticals, Trump's attorneys has effectively trapped themselves because, the most they can ask from the court of appeals to continue to "toll the applicable time" until 11/05/2024 these type of request has been granted only under extra ordinary circumstances, can you, think of extraordinary circumstances may come up between the sentencing date and appeal? I can't. This case is costing millions for the state I hope tax payers will demand reimbursement after the clowns has excepted the inevitable, that they lost.

For those who are still calling this whole thing a concerted effort by the left to make Trump a felon: If that were the case there'd be no delay. The delay is to cross T's and dot I's and make completely sure this wasn't within the official duties of the president. Immunity doesn't even touch this case because 98% of it happened when Trump wasn't president but still, this is a show of good faith.

The hush money case is the only case against Trump not impacted by this ruling- he was not yet president when those infractions took place, 'presidential immunity' can't apply. So what is this delay really about?
