Supporters of political prisoner Mumia Abu-Jamal are calling for urgent action as his health takes a serious decline and he continues to battle the state for his life. Mumia, who will turn 70 next month, has been unjustly incarcerated for over 41 years, where he has spent the majority of time in solitary confinement while on death row in Pennsylvania. Noelle Hanrahan, Founder and Director of Prison Radio, joins the show to discuss the latest call to action to free Mumia and the international movement to get justice for the revolutionary journalist and Black freedom fighter.

We had a Spirit Unity gathering in Philadelphia in 96 coincident with a Mumia rally. The cops on bikes approached our group and asked if we might turn Up the volume on our sound system. They wanted us to drown out the Mumia rally. We did not

One major problem I have with DA Larry Krasner is that he has not moved to free Mumia.

I'm not familiar with the details of Mumia's conviction, but it seems like he was likely innocent and punished for being a Political powerhouse, and wasn't not afraid to ask the hard questions. Thank you for this video. Two systems of justice alive and well here in the US - the powerful, rich, and connected can get effective legal representation early in their convictions. Think of Mitt Romneys son getting his D.L back after a slap on the wrist month or two month drivers license suspension.
