Being frugal isn’t about being cheap, it’s about being resourceful.

When my kids were very little, I was a single Mom and I learned ALL of the restaurants near us that kids could eat free at. It was fantastic for a single Mom.

I love how you mentioned the public library. I work for the library and I am always telling people all the free stuff you can do and get. (free homework help, museum passes, free books and prizes, summer programs/shows) etc. 😁

I never throw away thre end pieces of vegetables or onion skin - I collect them in a plastic zipper and put them into the freezer to make my own broth when the bag is full - can't believe I used to buy dry broth from the supermarket.

I watched the whole video, but didn't find any new information that we are not doing already.

My number one tip is to start a vegetable garden, even if you only have leafy greens in the garden. Just by growing our own lettuce, spinach, kale, parsley and a few other items we save quite a lot.

I'm sorry so many people are being hard on you about paper plates. You gave us a lot of
great tips and NO ONE is perfect. Thanks for all the good info!

Saving small change/coins is such a good idea. I had just over £400 in my penny bottle last year just by putting leftover change into the bottle. Covered all my Christmas expenditure. Thank you for all of your great ideas.

I've never had a car payment. I bought cheap cars I've paid cash for. Then I redraw from my mortgage for my current car and paid it back including the extra interest in just 9 months. The car was worth 16k. It was 7 months old and had super low kms, so it still has low kms since I don't drive a lot and it is in great condition so I hope to have it for another 10 to 15 years minimum. More if I can.

things i do is water down the milk, I stopped buying pop juice ice tea its full of sugar and I wont die drinking water. another I got some strawberries plants free, grew them well and traded the extra plants for raspberry and blueberry plants. I invested in asparagus rhubard apple pear plum cherry plants. I fill up the freezer each year and I use that through the winter that raspberry plant may cost 10 bucks but if you grow it well you will get so many plants and so much food that cost very little.

Freecycle is another way to save. I've been able to get storage cubes, bookcases and gardening tools and found new homes for plant pots and outgrown clothes.

I totally sympathize with paper plates. I never used them and because we don't have a dish washer I spent so much stressful time doing dishes! When I broke down and spent $3 on them holy moly was it a life changer!!! Kids plus no dishwasher creates so many dishes!

I have grown to love shopping second hand. While growing up I have always hated the fact that I would be wearing clothes that other people wore, but now that I live on my own I have saved so much money and I have been able to find so many things that look brand new. Nowadays I have learned why people like shopping second hand and why they say it is so much cheaper. Now that I have gotten to the point where I don't care what people think about me, I don't mind saving the money and finding things that I can wear for a while.

As a senior it goes against my nature to buy bottled water. I have several quart plastic water bottles that go with me on trips, into the boat for fishing, etc. So many videos on the poor quality of bottled water I wouldn't risk drinking it. As far as paper plates go I have a stack of cheap plastic plates that go into the dishwasher with the regular plates. They get used over an over for snacks and such saving the ceramic plates for evening meals and company. Food waste, none here. We have two dogs and chickens. Whatever the dogs don't eat gets fed to the chickens and recycled into fresh eggs. I also raise most of the vegetables and fruit my family eats. It doesn't take much to have a couple of raised beds filled with salad greens, tomatoes, squash, cucumbers, peppers, eggplants, beans, etc. Eating a low carb diet most of my meals are composed of a meat and fresh vegetables.

I save by cutting my own hair too. I pull it forward, put in in a hair tie, twist it and cut off what I feel is a good length. I love it. I love your list.

My local library saves me a lot of money. Other than above mentioned items I also get museum tickets there. We pack our picnic. A whole day of entertainment for free.
