This is a wild story a stranger told me about the deep woods of Vernonia Oregon. We don't know how much truth there is in this story but if even half is true, its a chilling tale.

This was definitely one of the scariest stories on your whole channel. The ending was perfect too. Mr. Ballen made the right decision to sign you guys! 👍

Oregon??👀
Oregonian here, it's rare, but I LOVE it when my home gets recognized for it's vast mysterious deep forests!
I grew up in the sticks and boy do i have some stories! But where I'm from is mostly native land, so we do believe the trees know and see all. So even if you think you're alone. You are not.

Logging has made a huge negative impact to our wildlife but also to the connection to our trees and the spirits that protect that land.
It's really the notion of, "if you respect the ground you walk on and the trees who give you life, then the wolves will spare you."
Our home is kind but ruthless so respect to our home goes a LONG ways.
Very happy to have watched today's video. I love how genuine you are with your stories so please just have fun with them, you're doing amazing Dougie!

New sub. Epic storytelling. I am a disabled veteran and going into the woods, is my solace. I live in Oregon and I’ve live in a few rural areas and I’ll say there are plenty of areas that are odd, off, and on with not only supernatural activity, but the amount of paranormal, spiritual and oddly related phenomena is off the scale in the PNW. I have camped in some areas that are not quite what one would call optimal or desirable! I go to them off grid locations and the amount of time I felt a weird sensation and vibe that was specific to this area. Stay safe out there in them woods folks. Who knows who’s lurking out there. Stay strapped.

I was born in California and raised in Oregon. Now, I live in SW Washington and there is weird stuff that goes on in the woods in the Pacific Northwest. I know Vernonia, Oregon very well.

Your episodes always drop when I'm on nightshift so I have to exercise restraint throughout the day and wait to listen at work. I work on my own and it can get pretty lonely at times so your stories keep me company. Lots of people can tell stories but you are a natural storyteller which is a different thing altogether. Best wishes to you from Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

I was there a few years ago. A friend of mine played there with a band at a near-bye tavern in the lil town of Vernonia. A man with 2 girls walked up and they all went inside. I couldnt help but think the younger girl didnt belong there. I even told her, " She should go home". All awhile the man they came in with was standing in the background conversing with a Sheriff. As I am standing by the back door the 2 girls walk up to me. The older one attempted to show or give me her ID. As soon as I reached out to get it, The man grabbed it and took the 2 girls by their arm and led them away and off they went. The next day Im at DQ in Vancouver WA and see the younger girls' pic in the window as Missing Person. I called the number but it was always busy signal. So if you ask me...There is trafficiting or something sadistic there and the things being heard & done out there are unrested souls that may have been takin' unwillingly. This is my opinion but I saw what I saw. Sheriff's involvement is most likely. It is something that should be looked into, No Doubt

I grew up in a city called Forest Grove in Oregon. Vernonia is maybe 40mins north of it. I've been there before and it really is an inexplicably eerie place. It's suuuuper isolated. Objectively beautiful like most of our dense woodland areas but yes, that town has a rep for raising hairs on the back of your neck.

Born in White Salmon, Washington. Raised in the Oregon/Washington section of the PNW.
This place is a massive hotspot for weird activity like this. Aliens, cryptids, haunted places, unexplained people in forests, etc. It really should be covered more often.
Thanks for this video! New subscriber here. Great work, my man! Editing is top-notch, and your story-telling is extremely easy to listen to.
Glad to find an awesome new channel

Two years ago, we had an accepted offer in on a house just outside of Vernonia. It fell through, so we ended up about an hour south. I grew up near Portland and always remember the big sign pointing towards Vernonia as we would drive to the coast

Awesome story! Keep it up!

Oregon native here, I've lived all over Oregon and almost a full year in the Vernonia area, though I can't be sure what was in the woods behind that house, it was definitely malevolent. I've never feared the forests of Oregon and I never will, I have a healthy respect for all inhabitants of the forests. I've seen many "unexplainable" things in the forests of Oregon from the pacific ocean to the steens mountains from the Columbia River to the California and Nevada borders.

I live in Oregon, and I absolutely love this story. Love all your stories. I put your YouTube channel on and do the dishes or whatever house chores I have to do on my days off. Sometimes I listen to your videos at work with my headphones. Such a great storyteller.

This is one of the coolest stories I've heard in a very long time. I love the visual pictures I took from the story, and I pictured the cabin to be beautifully made of logs with glowing gentle lights. My older brother wants to be a mountain man. He's always walking out in the woods, and this kind of reminds me of him, more or less. The natives in my village always warned everyone to respect the land and to give thanks for its provisions. There are so many legends all over the world of protectors of our ancestrial lands that warn us to always give respect to our surroundings. This story is a great example of that, think of Gladdus, the elder lady who kept to herself. ☺️
