It’s true pernicious anemia tends to be caused by intrinsic factor antibodies. However, not everyone with PA will necessarily have IF antibodies. Some people like myself have anti-parietal cell antibodies instead (the end result is still the same which is inability to absorb b12 from the diet).

Can we get rid of this desease? My Doctor has just prescribed me B12 injections for lifetime.. Am I going to have to live with this desease forever?

Pernicious anaemia is caused by lack of intrinsic factor due to antibodies to the parietal cells . This is called autoimmune pernicious anaemia anything else is b12 deficiency. Stop confusing people

Lack of B12 ——intrinsic factor in the stomach is needed for absorption of B-12–this is called pernicious anemia
