The lunge is a functional movement we do daily and is important to maintain as we age. It's good to develop balance and stability, integrate leg function with the core, strengthen quads, hamstrings, glutes and core muscles at the same time. Balanced connection of all the muscles surrounding the centre of gravity combined with ideal joint alignment are key features of the GSRP functional post-rehab workout. The core muscles connect to lengthen the spine and stabilize the rib cage on the pelvis, and so, the risk of workout-related injuries decrease considerably, and the benefits of performing these exercises are maximized
