His character is so very unassuming. Never judge a book by its cover!

Amazing show. I've been waiting for something interesting to come out for a long time. This one meets the standard for thrill.

And him having a family makes the show more interesting. It would be boring if he was just by himself and only working.

Why in Episode 1 did the Jackal go to the house with the chess pieces?

I find Eddies character very light weight for an assassin, but I reserve judgement until I see a scene in CQC 1 on 1 fight scenes with him

American looking in. Ex-soldier. Intrigued but its not Forsythe, and the black MI6 lass inclusion spoils plot substance.

This trailer makes this show look like a load of tired cliches! However having now watched / suffered the first 5 episodes it does nothing to get across just how much of a car crash of cliches, wooden acting, poorly scripted nonsense this show actually is. I'm watching with one finger on the fast forward and one hand stiffling giggles as it lurches from one ridiculous scenario to the next. What were they thinking? Slow Horses has raised the bar so high that this whole TV mis-fire comes across like a low-rent Bond romp. Eddie Redmayne may be 42 (!) but he's clearly hiding something in an attic somewhere... He just doesn't have the gravitas to pull this off. As folks have said.. the original Day Of The Jackal is a masterpiece. What this should have been was a nod to the classic late 1970s / early 80s slow burning spy dramas... A murky le Carré for the 2020s.... do something interesting. Something prodedural and gritty. Rain sodden... grey... What's this Euro 'jet set' nonsense? The Spanish family.. the pointless Northern Ireland sub plot. It's just... rubbish. TV has moved on quick from this glossy Holiday Special tourist board romp around Euro hot spots garbage. Can't wait for Thursday!!....
