Normal Force Demonstration with Reflected Laser

This video presents a demonstration that shows how Normal Force is produced when an object interacts with a rigid surface like a desktop, floor, or wall. When pushed, rigid surfaces are compressed slightly, like a spring, and thus push back on the object that is causing the compression. This is a great example of a Newton's Third Law force pair. When a surface is pushed on by an object, the surface pushes back with an equal amount of force in the opposite direction. Here, the word "normal" means "perpendicular", so a Normal Force in physics should be thought of as a perpendicular force exerted by a compressed surface.

The best demonstration I have seen for the normal force! thank you!

Really interesting. I've read in some pages (wikipedia for example) and some forums that normal force is not a true force per sea, but a result of Pauli Exclusion Principle, This video brings me some light. Thanks
