How a Man Survived at the Bottom of the Ocean, Alone for 3 Days

A man on a boat woke up early in the morning to go to the restroom. His world literally flipped upside down as extreme turbulence capsized the boat. Scared for his life, he stumbled to find any escape or safety, but only found locked doors. As the boat sank and settled at the bottom of the ocean, he discovered a small safe haven within the sunken vessel. I remember hearing somewhere that he only survived in that pocket of air because at the depth he was stranded, CO2 was somewhat absorbed into the water, and dissolved oxygen from that same deep water was able to diffuse out.

He was at the absolute ideal depth to have a few days of regulated breathing with that space.
