Wisconsin school shooting | Mom of student describes finding out about deadly shooting

At least five people are dead, including the suspected shooter, and several others were injured after someone opened fire on Dec. 16, 2024, at a Christian school in Wisconsin, police said.

Madison Police Chief Shon F. Barnes said in a news conference that officers responded to Abundant Life Christian School shortly before 11 a.m. Central and found "multiple" victims suffering from gunshot wounds.

Barnes said officers found the suspect, believed to be a juvenile student at the school, dead in the building.

"Every child in that building is a victim, and will be a victim forever," Barnes said. "A sad, sad day, not only for Madison but for the entire country."

Barnes says police officers who responded did not fire their weapons.

During a news conference, the police chief initially said three people were killed and seven others were hurt before providing an update that five were killed and five others were hurt.

Police had blocked off roads around the school Monday afternoon.

The country has become one of the most disturbing countries in the world where children and families have to live in fear where they can’t even go to school, attend their church services, go to work or even go out to get groceries. Metal detectors at court houses but not schools, security at our NFL games but not our schools, parents online but not in our children’s lives. You can take away all the guns you want but that’s just an excuse to address the real problem which is this countries priorities have gone out the window.

If she got the gun from either home or kept it in either home, the parents should be charged! Children and staff should never fear losing their lives from unidentified, troubled new students. The twice married and twice divorced to each other parents knew she was messed up!

An event like this was pretty callable by anyone with a finger on the pulse and paying attention imo. Misandry has been okayed in teaching the new generations and it's just going to be the new rising hate group. We didn't replace hate with no hate, we just changed the group it's ok to hate on.

Reminds me of that Facebook thing that happened when they tried to make a gender and race blind algorithm for combatting hate speech, and instead of what they expected something like 90% or something to that effect of the hate was directed at men

Yeah can anybody explain how these kids are getting ahold of these guns and why parents are being held responsible? This is what makes it bad for responsible gun owners properly locked and secure their stuff up from their children! Kids on the street with these guns is a epidemic and it's not are gun problem it's a cultural problem! If they don't get a gun they'll get a hold of something else and you'll never get the guns away from the criminals anyway so you can't and friends on law abiding citizen because of bad people!
