Remember the Uvalde, Texas cops in May of 2022, waiting around, scared to go in while children bled to death? Disgusting - why are they law enforcement if they're scared to protect and serve the public?

When my son was a junior in high school, he came home one afternoon with s 300 yard stare. I asked what was wrong and he went on to explain that there was an intruder that afternoon and the school was on lock down. He was terrified. The worst part of all of this is; as parents today, we have to answer those horrible questions when our children ask us, "If a shooter is in the school, what should I do?" Like, how do you even respond to that? Made me furious!

Seeing this from outside the USA and it's unbelievable that a 2nd grader was the first one to call 911. What the hell, America?

We need to ask why kids think of killing others. Could it be because they are not being taught compassion, ethics and good moral standards at home? I’d say teaching young people good behavior is everyone’s responsibility, including schools.

I come from a country with really strict gun laws(ironically thanks to the US after the war) and fairly high suicide rates. I lived in the US for a while and let me tell you, US society has a really huge mental health problem where alot of people just brush it off as if it doesn’t exist. That is the number one issue that needs to be addressed. Its not about being a conservative/liberal or being pro gun or not. You have to ask yourself the question, what is it about American culture and its society that keeps on breeding people that would do school shootings?

If anything is to blame, it’s likely bad parenting as well as the current culture we live in of hating those who are physically, politically, and religiously different than you! For gods sake, please teach kids how to handle problems without killing people!

Let's review a couple of facts It is already illegal for a 16 year old to possess a handgun. It is already illegal to take a handgun to a school. Red flag laws are unconstitutional because they deny due process under the 4th amendment. It's tragic, but no new laws are necessary. Who is the adult who allowed this child to get hold of this weapon? That is the pertinent question.
