Nasa captures incredible 4k images of the Sun - BBC News - BBC News

Remarkable high-definition images of the sun taken by Nasa's space-based telescope, the Solar Dynamics Observatory (SDO) have been released. The telescope took a high-resolution image of the sun every 12 seconds in ten wavelengths of invisible UV light, with each wavelength highlighting a different temperature and assigned a colour. The images were put together and show several active regions of the sun, which are usually the source of solar storms. This video has been speeded up from the original footage released by Nasa

Everyone should be taking the time to thank nasa for their amazing version of the sun. I think ive seen a few of these versions in hollywood. Great CGI.

This might be a dumb question, but I wonder... if the sun is so massive that one million earths can fit into it, then how can a mere satellite have the capacity to get an up close full spherical view of the sun as shown in some of these videos?
