What starts the whole plot of The Last of Us is Joel and Tess trying to get their guns back, that’s why they accept to smuggle Ellie, so I imagine their guns were a bunch of those assault rifles, because they would definitely make all that effort worthy of it.

The AR makes this remaster worth the price alone. Everyone who played the last level in the original versions always wanted to have this in New Game Plus. It was the ultimate tease. "Here's a badass weapon, and you can only use it for a few minutes of gameplay at the end." Remaster quickly fixed that issue.

For those people who finds it difficult to maintain the M4’s recoil, just use the cheat “Bullet Slow Motion” their you can control your shooting accurately.

This weapon is damn powerful it can kill runners in 2 body shot, maybe 3 for unarmored survivor, 4 body shot for clicker and body armored survivor and less than 20 round for bloater, recoil is the real problem for this gun

AHHH So that's why they give you that gun at the very end of the game.😅
It is broken when used against infected and un-armored enemies.

Now imagine that nearly EVERY enemy use the Assault Rifle and the Multiplayer(which i yet to have played it because i don't have a PSN yet) Desert Eagle(Called in-game the "Enforcer")
And see how much hell it could be

Alternatively, when joel upgrades his weapons, the enemies weapons also get upgraded(EG. Rate of fire, Magazine capacity, among other things), that could be hell or so.
