If you can go from famine to obesity in such a short time, all countries should remember that it can work the other way as well.

I've been going to China since 2002 (My wife is from Beijing) Most of the general public was still riding bikes and everyone was fit. You had to look really hard to find western food. Since that time, the difference in the health of their youth is unbelievable.

I recently saw a video about how pre-packaged food box were being pushed in the chinese schools. common complaints from the parents were about the low quality and high amount of fat and salt.

Famine often come with obesity for at least two reasons.
1: People who experience famine can experience epigenetic changes that makes your body more likely store energy as fat reserves.
This is in preparation for another famine.
This can be inherited down generations.
2: When there is famine an unhealthy attitude to food becomes part of the culture.
In such cultures the ability to eat much is viewed as healthy in stark contrast with the cultural memory of famine.
You are suppose to be grateful for the food you have.
Being able to eat a lot of food becomes a status symbol.
This is why wealthy Chinese people tend to serve way to much food at dining parties, to show that they can afford.

Meat and quality fat don't get you fat Chris. Carbs, trans fats, processed foods and not moving much get you fat.

Given how few to no outlets for stress there are given the authoritarian regime, the few pleasures one can allow themselves will become an overly indulgent activity rather than an activity to survive.

I actually got an ad!!!
The first time I didn't immediately hit the skip ad button. I thought that commercial break line was a bit to make the videos seem like corporate news shows.
You guys do great work.

Amid stable interest rates and hints of future hikes from the Federal Reserve, now is a crucial time for investors to re-evaluate their financial strategies. With economic growth labeled as 'solid' and inflation on the rise, the investment landscape is changing. In this environment, cryptocurrencies offer a unique alternative, largely unaffected by traditional market drivers. My own experience, acquiring 23 bitcoins in seven weeks through Kerrie Farrell trading methods, speaks to the promise of this emerging asset class..

Stress, anxiety and depression can effect how your metabolism works and your motivation. It's not always about the food, but the mood. Happy satisfied people tend not to be overeating and listless.

Even children today have signs of artery disease. Fast foods and sugary drinks have long term consequences.
There is an obesity epidemic today where over 60% of the population is overweight or obese.
What is common today and "NORMAL" is not healthy. The average person today is not healthy and is taking medications.
Heart attacks were once only common in people over 65. Today people in their 40 are having heart attacks.
Add more plants and vegetables to your diet and less junk and overly processed foods

Chinese food is basically a bowl of oil with some noodles

Chris mentions the Chinese diet using more oils that before. If you want to get grossed out, watch some of the videos on gutter oil, and how it's collected and used by Chinese restaurants.

Meat and eggs doesn't make people fat. Processed food and excess carbs plus excess fat makes people fat—especially when the excess fat is seed oils and the excess carbs are sugar.

PS: Don't blame the butter for what the bread did.
