Don't let him distract you from the data that increase in ice cream sales correlates perfectly to number of shark attacks. We need to investigate our ice creams!

I started to go to work by bicycle. This added about 25 minutes of physical activity on 5 days a week to my normal life. I didn't change anything else and within 2 months lost 4 kg.

"there is not one obese person in this photo that I cherry picked. this means that door handles made of metal instead of wood killed Bigfoot."

People in the 70s also never fell asleep first at a sleepover

70s was when regulators pushed low fat recommendations, demonized saturated fat and replaced it with seed oils and sugar.

Dude, takes an old picture that's literally a drawing and assumes that there weren't any fat people! Lmao

Convenience is a monkeys paw situation. People have gotten more lax w/ their diets, and in short have had more laid back life styles due to how easy it is to get fast food. Truly a product of modernity.

Shutting down misinformation is my favorite part of social media doctor content.

Oil is still a factor regardless! And I agree that there are many other variables for obesity than just oil alone!

I grew up during the 1970s. There were 3 TV channels and nothing on after school, so we were playing outside: running around, riding our bikes, etc. Food portions were smaller back then too. The "medium" drink at McDs is 20oz. That was a LARGE when I was growing up. The burgers and fries at McDs were what you get in a Happy Meal now. Nothing was delivered. My folks couldn't afford to take us out to eat so McDs was a special treat that we had maybe 4 times per year.

I think I saw a study where they found vegetable oils are oxidized more easily making the cells in our body less resilient and number of other factors.

It is a lack of exercise but also sugar consumption that contributes to obesity.

In the 70's obese people stayed away from cameras. Shame was a big thing, especially in places like beaches. I remember obese relatives literally hiding when cameras came out.

We walked! To school, to the shops, to work if it was near enough. To the bus, yes, the bus! It was a ten/fifteen minute walk to the bus every morning and evening. And I walked in in fine weather. Took 3/4 of an hour.

its not just takeaways since theyre too expensive, its the amount of sugar consumed as well

I recently lost over 100 pounds(124 at last weighing). It took me a year, but the only thing I changed was removing high fructose corn syrup from my diet. I changed foods that contained it with versions that contained regular sugar. HFCS didn't go into widespread use until the 70's also.
