Honda EU2200i running a REFRIGERATOR + AC :) Honest²

I've wanted one of these HONDA Inverters for 20+ years! California rolling blackouts finally got me thinking I NEED ONE NOW!!! All I want/need it for was to keep my old refrigerator + 8,000btu window AC unit going if a rolling blackout hits. Well Labor Day 2020 was the inaugural fire up of my inverter generator. Happy to say that my #HondaEU2200i CAN RUN BOTH REFRIGERATOR & AC @ THE SAME TIME!!! Sooooo happy I finally got me my own HONDA #EU2200i Generator :) Honest²

If you switch the generator to on and leave it on for a few minutes to let the fuel fill the carby, then pull the starter it should start first pull, the switch is a fuel tap as well.

Picked a new one this weekend for camping, the other guys bring theirs for plugging blenders inflatable mattress and movie night one ended being loud the other one broke down didn’t start and was a new one they where a champion and a powerhorse, mine came to save the weekend 😂

Nice video! I am a honda believer, honda four stroke rototiller, honda four stroke gx35 weed eater for 9 years before selling it when i went artificial grass, and i have both the eu2200 and eu2200 companion! I bought oem covers for both gens for storing, also bought dip sticks with magnetic ends to catch metal shavings in the oil! I run all of my four strokes on ethanol free fuel, yes its pricy, but i have the peace of mind of having squeaky clean carburetors I buy trufuel ethanol free four stroke fuel in the 5 gallon metal container at ace hardware! An absolute must, when running small engines that dont get used very often! I never ever worry about my carbs getting gummed up. Honda small engines are a bit pricy and in my eyes are worth spending a little extra to keep them running flawlessly!!!

I have a 1K watt solar “generator” for quiet stuff at night but planning on getting a Honda for my van so it’ll keep me cool next summer by running my 5k btu a/c unit. Solar could power it, but not for too long!

I have one as well. I use Wavian 5.3 gallon Jerry cans with ethanol free fuel and PRI-G stabilizer for fuel storage. I’m considering a tri-fuel kit as well since propane burns clean and stores for so long.

Nice, I live in cali also and had a service outage for 18 hours. I've also wanted to purchase one of these for the longest time. Went yesterday and found the same one you have. Lowes had the new one with the co sensor and bluetooth but stayed away cause that's just more things to fail in the future. Like your setup with the dolly, did you make that? thanks for the video I plan on using mine for those unplanned emergency's.

I never ceased to be amazed that Americans accept that they will have regular power outages and need to make provision for them, I know you get storms and snow (some places) in the winter but so do we in the U.K. but I honestly can’t remember when we last had a power cut ! It looks like the utility companies could do with updating their infrastructure.
I do have a 8000 watt generator and change over switch just in case though 👍🏻🇬🇧

will take more pulls upon initial set up, because the Honda runs a fuel pump...and it takes a few pulls to draw gas through that. After that, its about a 1-2 pull going forward...unless you drain the gas.

Well I wanted you to know I appreciate this video so much. I'm 63 years old and I wanted to know how to get this running and what to do and you even showed me how to drain the oil. Do you drain the oil every time you use it or do you drain the oil if you're going to let it sit for a long time? And I was wondering the same thing because I wanted to run a small air conditioner plus my refrigerator and you answered all my questions
