awesome shop and the guys know thier stuff. One thing ive learned that tying to the bend of the hook on smaller flies, is it can either straighten the hook bend if its not a heavy wire hook or slide off if your running a barbless hooks.

so im blessed and cursed as you will about fishing the Truckee river in my back yard, being one of the hardest fisheries" allegedly" theres fast shallow rapids and deep slow pockets nothing in between, seems as though the 2x leader to water doesnt apply here. say waters 6-7 feet slow pocket you run anything longer for leader you snag but, run 8 to 8 half for leader you tick bottom now and again. no in between. also you could go out sight fishing on day and the next they dont bite your whole library of flies. wild place i live ad fish

Nice, tying the dropper to the eye is OK but if your using 5x and # 22 hooks and small it’s tuff to to get the tippet through. lately I’ve been using the small tipped ring and tying off that, it woks well and I use it as my weight stop .Still prone to tangle . Thanks for the video

Size 26 midge? Are those even prescriptions sunglasses? LOL A couple of weeks ago I was on the Sanjuan river fishing the tailwater in New Mexico with similar size flies and wishing I was in saltwater with heavier tippet . As I write this, I’m in Cuba, fishing saltwater, using nothing smaller than.013.

I just put on a double surgeon knott without cutting the leader to snug my weight.

tip: on the fly uni don't cinch the uni all the way down leave a tiny loop . ...more natural movement for the fly....DON'T try this with a clinch, it won't maintain it's integrity unless fully cinched. I prefer the loose uni over permanent loop knots because it's easier to adjust the loop size to "just enough". con: after tension form fish or snag you might wanna re-enlarge the loop.
