Huawei seems to be the most consistent one throughout all scenarios. Might not be the best in every situation, but definitely most reliable. Xiaomi, on the other hand, is a very confused piece of tech, not knowing what it wants to do most of the time.

I love how the Huawei is so consistent. It's super sad that it doesn't come with gms

Either something happened to the Xiaomi 13 Pro between yours and Han's Tech Talk or Gizmochina's camera reviews or they updated the phone, cause most of the time I prefer the Xiaomi's shot the most. Even night videos seems to be a bit smoother and less jitter compared to the other two. Also I do feel the Xiaomi has the slightly clearer mic, but I'm on phone speakers so it's probably just me. Pictures at night less clear on Xiaomi and the rest definitely ahead. I probably like the style of Xiaomi but realistically the other 2 are better in stills. Still great camera phones from all of these. Can't wait to see what the Xiaomi Ultra will bring.

All three phones are pretty good. Xioami and Vivo take advantage of the big sensor in some scenarios, but it's clear that Huawei offers more realistic visuals. I really like Vivo and Xiaomi in terms of sound in the video. Overall, all three phones are good. Thanks Chris for this great comparison video. By the way, I would really like to see a comparison between Xiaomi 12s ultra and 13 pro. I really wonder whether the ultra segment or the pro segment performs better with a 1-inch sensor.

Super objective comparison and another high quality piece of content on this channel.
For me all three phones are overall very close. I think it comes down to which features a given user would cherish the most.

Gotta say I'm super impressed by the main camera on Huawei which can capture more details despite having sensor that has *41% of area of a 1 inch sensor* (assuming the same proportions of the sensors and if I calculate correctly: (1/1.56)^2 = 0.41 vs (1/1)^2 = 1 )

Personally, I'd wait to see if Xiaomi upgrades their software (as usual), or even better - if the phone gets popular enough so that it gets some GCam ports from the community ;)

Amazing how Xiaomi dialed down on the over processing. The images look very pleasing

For me it seems Vivo is the most powerful in terms of Camera Hardware but still lacking behind Huawei, Iphone and Samsung in Software polishing, the Consistency is also lacking tho I'm quite surprised about Mate 50 Pro ... Only downside is Night Photography cause those Noise are so aggressive.

I'm using X70 pro+ now. the interface was easy without lag, the camera doing a good job especially for night photo. so I'll stick with x90 pro+ if I can buy.

I prefer the selfie on Huawei but they switched a lot in many areas. I expected a lot from Vivo but it wasn't so

Great comparison. I have an x90 pro plus on its way to me at the moment. can't wait. I had a 12s ultra recently - amazing main camera for street photography, but for other stuff I needed it for it crushed the darks, and white balance was a bit off. really looking forward to putting the x90 thru its paces :)

Even when not being a flagship I think xiaomi is the best so far but time will tell though by the way great comparison

Great comparison. The xiaomi catches a lot of wind-noise, in almost every video clip. The Vivo is another league when it comes to audio handling

Always looking forward to these videos Chris! Awesome stuff. How's the battery of the 13 pro so far?

Scraping is a good description. You can really feel how sanctions have hurt Huawei. The 40 had a huge 1/1.5" ultrawide, this one is just 1/3rd inch, which is why the night sky was rubbish. The main is smaller than the 40's, too, which is why it isn't as naturally sharp as the Vivo... the X90 seems to have the same output as the X80 in terms of hair/fur rendition, and that was as good as the Mate 40.

But that new Tele is great. Both Huawei and Vivo use the same half inch Tele, and while the short length makes them rubbish for long distance, they're great for portraits.

Thanks for this. Was wondering if I should trade the 40 for a 13 Pro or X90, not seeing the benefit yet (have the 50 already).

Xiaomi did a good job, camera processing has improved a bit compared 12S Ultra, also the video judder, it's the significantly cheaper than other two phones, so obviously can't expect it to beat them.

The video performance off all 3 devices is quite impressive i may say. Better than S22 ultra i think. Vivo is the winner for me... But 13 pro comes in close second

Patiently waiting on a Xiaomi 13 version of what the 12S Ultra was. Maybe a 13S UItra ? I would defintely give up my Pixel 7 Pro if the Xiaomi performs well enough.

Keep in mind that on Xiaomi 13 pro the Leica Authentic color profile does not use computational photography (it's just one shot image), to activate the computational photography function, you must use Leica Vibrant color profile (which will bring forth auto multi-shot HDR). I think this was the reason for the lower dynamic range in some of your shots on the Xiaomi phone.
