Crypto… how cliché. I prefer to transport my wealth in Pokémon cards. It’s the future. And the best part is, if the government ever confiscated them, I will go down in history as the guy responsible for an asset forfeiture case captioned U.S. v. Pikachu. 👍

The $10k limit, to travel outside of the U.S. has never been adjusted for inflation,
since it was established, decades ago! All American airports need to have signs
posted, that clearly define how much cash people can carry, in & out of the U.S.
plus TSA & all law enforcement agencies need to abide by!

they might not know what it was 3 years ago, but now they probably know what it is, but again, your money is on the blockchain.

Idea. The UK Britannia is legal tender and has a face value of £100 but the gold in it is worth about £1650 today. I carry 10 of these and declare them as £1000. Is that legal ?

Lol.. until the govt decides to cancel crypto. All it takes is a media campaign and it's over. No way to extract that into a physical or usable medium..

a crypto wallet with access to all the popular currencies storing all of them in any amount can be described as a list of 12 (or 24) code words. you don't really need anything physical to travel with crypto if you were to memorize the code word list. install a fresh wallet on a device at your destination, put in the code words, and voila! you have access to all your currencies as if you were at home 😎
if you forget the list without an accessible backup somewhere then yes, you do lose everything. you get unlimited tries to guess a recovery though. you are well advised to keep a copy of the list in a safe place back home 🙂
it's interesting to realize that a crypto-wallet containing an arbitrary amount of currencies in unlimited amounts depends on no hardware or media. your ownership of it comes down to merely keeping a list of words secret 🤫

Many years ago I had the best job in the world. I flew from Canada to the USA with a satchel feathered to me. I would meet someone at the airport in the USA, exchange satchels then fly back to Canada. The funny thing was I never had any trouble getting in to the USA but every time I came back to Canada the satchel was confiscated because I never knew what was inside. The following day someone from the company would retrieve it from customs. Of course all this happened many years before 9-11

You cannot travel with Crypto. You can't even hold it in your hand.

My good sir, you make good points. However, you overlooked one important detail. 😂how will you put that +1Mil in your bank account😂.
Soon as you deposit that +1Mil, your name will be on so many lists😂. They will want to know where you got that money and HOW DID YOU GET IT IN?😂
That my friend is a can of worms you dont want to open.
