Why do boxers fight with gloves and mouth guards on? Why do they hit pads and punching bags in training and not each other? This commentator is clearly not a real fighter because people who actually learn how to fight never train by bare knuckle boxing each other.

That and every fighter deep down knows that being strong matters in a fight just as much if not more than whatever "training" they have done.

A 70kg guy who has seen one too many movies, done a few mma classes, and has convinced themselves that size doesn't matter, is someone who is going to get humbled by the real world very quickly if they every actually try and fight the biggest guy in the gym

He has a point though. What if I'm walking around one day and someone starts a fight with me. I don't think I'd be able to defend myself without my weightlifting belt.

It's simple really. So @AttritionWarrior, next time you go running, don't wear shoes. Our equipment isn't 'cheating' because it helps us CHANNEL our strength, not ENHANCE it. A belt to lifters is like sprint shoes for Usain Bolt, specialized swimwear for Phelps, and gloves for boxers. These equipment are not only prohibited but encouraged.

The username is a typo. It's supposed to be "Attention Warrior"

He has a point though, a belt isn't something you're just gonna have on you and ready to go at all times like a squat plug

People don't understand that one activity cannot be a perfect substitute for a different one.
Even if they are of similar nature, they are still two different things.
If there was a furniture lifting contest between the world's number 1 strongman and the world's number 1 furniture lifter, the furniture lifter will win.

Increasing you belted strength will raise your baseline beltless strength. How is this so hard to understand for these people?

Tell me you don’t lift without telling me you don’t lift

There are always those dudes under powerlifting (or more commonly bodybuilding) videos, always waiting to comment how all that training won't help you win a fight. These people are their own species with their own entire ecosystem due to how many of them there are.

You know that same guy is on mayweathers channel commenting "theres no rules on the street" and in conor mcgregors comments saying "let's see you try your MMA when i bring my gun"

Lifting weights helps us out because we believe in what we are doing, it's the fact plus the faith that gets us over the hump, otherwise we are just meandering and hoping for the best

They’re for stability not strength. And also what’s sbd gotta do w a fight

You can use a katana in the real world though..
or a brick, or a shoe, 2x4, 4 chairs from the top rope, a lead pipe, stapler, a bullet... alot of bullets.

Hell, you could even use an army if you got one of those, honestly the real world is a lot more unfair than sports.

The same muscles are activated either way, they just get activated MORE with the belt.

If i didnt use wrist wraps or knee sleeves and of course a belt. My body would be broken down by day 3 of my training week. I use equipment to increase training volume while maintaining health.

As someone who does Judo (a martial art)
I am interested on your take on lifting without a belt because you wont have one in competition
Would really appreciate

I don’t think I’ve ever braced when throwing a punch or tackling someone
