1:02 How does "A meta-analytic review of psychodynamic therapies for anxiety disorder" relate to lifting belts helping/not helping your lower back?

Can we just appreciate the fact that there was absolutely no cut in this 8 min video? Big props!

I get the point about the belt not protecting the lower back but after suffering back pain while deadlifting and squatting for some time, I do find that the increased core stability from using a belt has seemed to alleviate this.

Cue at 2:34 is a game changer. I feel like that’s the kind of intra-abdominal pressure I sometimes struggle to get with weight on my back.

Great video, I went without a belt for over a year which was very beneficial, then I decided to get a sbd belt because I felt like kicking it up a notch.
At the start, I can't describe how much I hated that belt, it was so tight and uncomfortable that I couldn't do my deadlifts, I just absolutely hated it, was jamming into my ribs and shit, but now, about 1-2 years into using it it's adapted to my body, loosened up, and it's fantastic.

Was just binging some of your old videos on resistance bands, this was a very pleasant surprise. You are brilliant, sir. Thank you for doing what you do.

wow, moving the belt up made a huge difference and allows me to keep a straighter lower back, rather than a bended one, when doing deadlifts. (just tried with some kettlebells, and it also seems like it eliminated my problem of getting lightheaded when I try to braze properly.)

dude, this person is so beautiful. I have rarely used the word beautiful for any man, but here I just can't help but admire his lithe rippling physique, his benign energy, the whole positive aura around him. This is exactly what I wish to achieve in my fitness journey ultimately.

I have an injury in my spine so getting that extra information on how to recover safely and slowly get back to my normal level helps me very much. Appreciate it ☝🏽

This is a great video Uncle Eugene!! I had bought a lever belt a year ago and gave up on it, as it would dig in when squatting....now, I know I should try it higher up, so will give it another try. Your videos are top notch...and also, your core is looking ripped!!! Thanks for the great tips!!!! 😊👊

I had open abdominal surgery two years ago and I won’t lift heavy compound lifts without it. It’s protected me thus far and since I’m at a risk for hernias I feel better protecting it.

Pioneer now make a lever belt that has several spots it can “hook” on so that you don’t have to unscrew the clasp if your body changes/you’re wearing a jumper etc.

So helpful! thank you!!! i’d like to offer that using a lifting belt improperly actually exposes your lower back to potentially higher risk of injury or strain.

I would love to see a video covering shoulder mobility. I get a lot of shoulder and wrist pain while squatting from not being able to get my arms in the right position. Even after a good amount of stretching and warm ups I don't feel comfortable under the bar. Love your videos btw!

Your way of describing force with your arm was top notch. Made me understand. 2:53

about the back pain i can say especially with deadlifts, withouth the belt i'm more prone to lower back pain after, with the belt i never have any pain at all,
for squats i use it just to lift more

I appreciate you mentionning that you usually wear the belt higher up. Personally, it always felt great wearing it super high but never hearing anyone else doing this was making me feel a bit unsure and confused.
