UPDATE 1: Sony has added true 24p to the FX3 and FX30.

UPDATE 2: This tutorial now covers other Sony cameras after a recent firmware update.

Very useful and quick as always. Especially the correct FPS conversion!

Thank you. I have had the official Sony version back ordered for 3+ months. This looks to be a much better alternative.

quick question, do you have to leave the tc-1 plugged in the whole time? can you jam sync it, then unplug it and sync another camera, etc.?

@DeityMicrophones, I'm looking for a quick tutorial on how to use, basically, this combination - Deity TC1 + FX30 (and some additional different Sony cameras) in Final Cut Pro. Can you point me in the right direction?

When the TC-1 is connected to the FX-3 multi port, does the 3.5mm mic input port work normally for external mics?

Right now, I am using a shotgun mic on my FX3. So if I am getting this right, I need to attach TC-1 to my camera, and the camera will have scratch audio from the built in mic and timecode. On the same rig I will have the shotgun mic connected to a future PR-2. 32 bit float from the shotgun with timecode. Unbeliavable. Great product guys.
Question: Can I skip (bridge) the TC-1 from the equation? So If I am only using the future PR-2: on the IN line the shotgun mic and on the OUT line connected direct into the camera 3.5 mm (red mic in). Will I have timecode in camera and 32 bit fload from the shotgun with timecode on the microSD card in the PR-2?
Thank you in advance!

very nice products, I been use it for my 3 fx3 and never have any issue, but recently i purchased an ZVE1 just for one more compact option when in super tight environment, but since the ZVE1 doesnt have the old micro usb. is the only option is through 3.5mm microphone jack? I really dont like the noise from the TC when go through microphone, plus I cant plus any microphone when do it this way

Great video… 2 questions:
1) you only need 1 Deity unit to set my 2 fx3s? Or do I need 1 deity unit for each fx3
2) what if main fx3 is 23fps and the second is set to 60 fps?

Does this cable not work with other Sony bodies that have the multiport connection?

Since the a7s iii has the same menu for the timecode and also it has micro-usb multiport, should the timecode input work to the a7s iii too? Also does this time code cable read timecode from other generators? such us a zoom f6 etc ?

I want to buy DEity time code generator TC 1. I have a Sony FX3, FX30 and the Sound Device audio recorder MixPre 3. What do I need to sync my devices? How many TC 1 and which cable. And I edit with Adobe Premiere Pro. Does that mean I will need an extra app or does Premiere Pro imports it without a problem because I read Da vinci does it without needing an app.

Not much activity from Deity themselves, it seems.
Do they actually read comments, then reply ?

These adapters seem to be on backorder everywhere. Can I plug it into the 3.5mm jack on the top handle and still record a shotgun on one of the xlr ports?

hey, once i have completed this timecode sync, can i unplug the proprietary cable to then plug my field monitor in as it uses that port to control camera settings and tap to focus etc. How long will it stay in sync for before it drifts?

most cameras record no audio or timecode in high speed mode - so do these 2 Sony cameras record audio and timecode even in high speed mode?

Does the Deity support World Clock TC? How would you connect it to a mixer that requires TC & WC inputs?
