How To Use Timecode on the Wireless PRO in Two Different Setups

In this video, we walk you through using timecode on the Wireless PRO in two different setups – with a single camera that does not understand timecode and with a pair of cameras with a dedicated timecode input.

These are two common scenarios that cover using timecode with both single and multi-camera setups, and with cameras that understand timecode and do not.

Great tutorial, it resolved my confusion with respect to jam-syncing and still being able to use 32-bit. Thanks

Been struggling to jam sync my Sony cameras. Is there any way to do it? 😥

Can you sync two or more sets of Wireless Pro? 4 transmitters and 2 receivers?

Many thanks for this tutorial. I do not like the idear, that when using TC-Mode 5, I can not monitor and / or output my audio. A way around would be to jamsync the Rode Wireless Pro with Tentacle Sync E and then use this device to jamsync the recorder or camera. But can the Rode Wireless Pro Receiver run with TC without using a Mode 1 to 5? That would be great!

Thank you so much for this video! I had never used DaVinci Resolve (was using Shotcut) and was waiting for my new iPhone to come in to try all this out. It is like friggin' magic. Love the Wireless Pro even more now!

@rodemic If I have 2 Rode Wireless Pro systems how can I sync them together to make sure Timecode for all mics are synced?

Since I shoot with multiple Blackmagic cameras, it sounds to me like I should use the Jam Sync, but rather than setting the RX aside after they're all in sync, wouldn't it be possible to go back to the App to turn the sync channels off, then push the real audio into my main camera? Then I also have a clear mix of audio on at least one camera.

Can I use Timecode and use the USB connection for live streaming at the same time. When I have Timecode enabled it is not showing my mic signal, just the Timecode in OBS.

I’ve tried the Jam Sync method with an FX3 in mode 5 / Merged. But I cannot monitor my levels via headphones through the receiver output. It produces a nasty TC screech. I can get rid of it by turning TC off. But doesn’t that unsync everything? Solution?

I don't know if there is an option where you can configure the Røde Wireless Pro in Split Mode (each audio through a different TX and channels) and use headphones to monitor each signal, but where you can enter a timecode. I understand that this timecode will include noise, but in the Timecode 3 option this timecode is recorded as data. Is this possible in any way? Will it be possible with a future firmware update or will it be in the next Røde and we will have to pay for it?

Thanks for the tutorial. When will the wireless pro become a true time code device and be able to accept time code as well as send it?

Does the receiver wirelessly receive audio from the transmitter while also putting timecode beeps in the right channel on the camera? In the video, "scratch audio" is mentioned, but is that locally captured on the receiver or through the transmitter?

It's possible to monitor audio in any way while RX is in Timecode mode 5? I know levels aren't a concern with 32 bit, but how do I know I'm not recording weird sounds, lav is not scratching etc?

Can more than 2 Wireless Pro transmitters be synced to the same timecode? I plan on using only the built in recording function for all mics in any particular setup, but would like to add more synced mics/ recorders if possible.

I'd also like to see an option for timecode to do split via the 1/8" Jack, and timecode via the USB connector. This could allow someone with a camera that has timecode in to record Left - Transmitter 1, Right - Transmitter 2 & USB - Timecode. Does that make sense?
